Ahlgrens bilar is one of the best selling candy brands in Sweden. The original flavour and elegant design have remained unchanged since 1953, when Ahlgrens candy factory decided to try to manufacture marshmallows. The result was not as expected; instead, it turned out to be small foam pieces of candy in the shape of a car. Swedens best tasting car was born!

The first mass produced car-shaped foam candy rolled out of the factory in Gvle, under the greatest of secrecy in 1953. Most of the factory workers were gripped by this momentous occasion, and stories spread throughout the community about these strange and wonderful automobiles in shades of pink, green and off-white.
Today, Ahlgrens bilar is the worlds top-selling car by far. And despite its somewhat low resale value, new generations are continuously discovering Ahlgrens bilars beautiful and timeless design, its tasteful profile, and its position as the number one classic in the world of automotive sports.
