What is Cluster Dextrin?
Cluster Dextrin is a maltodextrin (highly branched cyclic dextrin) which can be used in a variety of ways. It can be mixed with pre-workout to aid with energy levels during exercise and can be used with post-workout drinks such as protein or BCAAs. Cluster Dextrin is available as unflavoured which makes it easy to use when mixing.
Carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after highly intensive and/or long-lasting physical exercise, leading to muscle fatigue and the depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle. Carbohydrates also contribute to the maintenance of normal brain function.
Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide produced from starch by partial hydrolysis. It is a glucose polymer and is considered to be a complex carbohydrate although it has an extremely high glycemic index (GI) rating of 110. Cluster Dextrin is gluten free, sugar-free and is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
