Lutein is a carotenoid naturally concentrated in the macular of healthy eyes, which is the most visually sensitive part of the eye. Unfortunately, lutein can be damaged by oxidative stress caused by free radicals or the natural ageing process, which affect vision and the health of eyes. It is widely believed that lutein supplements can increase macular pigment density in the eye, which may support the maintenance of normal eye function and vision. Lutein contains naturally occurring active carotenoids such as Zeaxanthin, which provides synergistic support. Vitamin B2 (or Riboflavin) facilitates red blood cell formation, cell respiration and growth. Riboflavin helps energy production by metabolising fats, sugars and protein. Its primary role is to maintain healthy eyes, skin, hair and nail condition, normalise energy metabolism and maintain traditional function of the nervous system. It also acts as an antioxidant eliminating free radicals that cause cell damage and oxidative stress.
