The Omega-3 Index by OmegaQuant is a blood test that measures the amount of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) in red blood cell membranes. An Omega-3 Index is desirable in the range of 8%-12%. Once you know your Omega-3 Index you can adjust your diet (food/supplements) to improve your Omega-3 Index in as little as 3-4 months. For reference, 1500mg of combined EPA&DHA in TG (Triglyceride form) can increase Omega-3 index from 4% to 8% in ~13 weeks.
